About the author and book:
Firstly, I am not a writer. I am an individual who likes to know about, and question my real existence. I feel it is justified that I know my true purpose in life, and that I can learn more about myself. I feel the need to question certain aspects of my life, such as the following
- Who am I?
- What made me what I am?
- Who am i taking after in the family line?
These are questions I may never be able to fully answer. But by exploring the family history and bloodlines, I tried to identify some genetic links and similarities with certain ancestors, which might satisfy my curiosity. My name is Patrick Loughnane – Thurles born and bred. My father Michael (Mikie) Loughnane was a Thurles man and my mother, Bridget Quinn, came from Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. I come from a family of eight, six boys and two girls. I am married to Maireád and have three children Fionn, Dale and Sophie, who I love unconditionally. I was educated in Scoil Ailbhe, Christian brothers Primary School and Thurles Vocational School. I left school at the age of fourteen and worked in the building trade and a variety of other jobs throughout the following years. At present, I am currently unemployed.
